Consumers were notified through an announcement posted on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website about the recall of the Milwaukee Tool chainsaw due to a potential injury danger.

According to the agency, the recall covers approximately 90,000 chainsaws of model 2826-20 M18 FUEL with 12″ or 14″ bars, of which 83,360 were sold in U.S. retail chains; and 7,500 units in Canada for prices between $300 and $700. According to the manufacturer, Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp., based in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the risk is due to the machine's chain brake failing to engage, causing lacerations to users. The manufacturer also indicated that the product can be identified by the letter “A” located between the serial number, which is situated on the upper right side. To date, two cases of lacerations have been reported. For that reason, both the manufacturer and the Safety Commission urge consumers to stop using the saw. Furthermore, it indicated that customers who purchased the product should also register it at www.service.milwaukeetool.com/support/eservice to receive a prepaid shipping label to return the chainsaw to Milwaukee Tool for repair.
