The Los Angeles County prosecutor's office presented this Tuesday the testimony of police officers and explicit photos of Celeste Rivas's body on the first day of a preliminary hearing in which a judge will determine if there is sufficient evidence to prosecute the singer D4vd for the death of the young Hispanic woman.

D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is accused of the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernández, who was last seen in April 2025 on her way to the singer's Hollywood Hills residence and whose remains were found on September 8 in a car in his name.

During the first day of the hearing, D4vd appeared in his orange prison uniform and handcuffed, so his lawyers asked the judge to remove the handcuffs, arguing that they were unnecessary. The request was accepted.
