However, because the exchange market continues to operate during the day, the price of the dollar against the peso ended the session around $17.41 pesos per US currency.
Banxico also announced that the FIX exchange rate, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), was established at $17.3975 pesos per dollar for this Wednesday, July 22. This value works as an official reference for various contracts, financial operations and procedures in Mexico. The FIX is calculated based on the average of the quotes observed in the wholesale exchange market during banking business days and is published at noon of the previous business day.
For its part, the exchange rate applicable for the payment of obligations denominated in US dollars was set at $17.4315 pesos per currency. This value is used when people or companies must settle debts agreed in foreign currency within Mexican territory.
