The municipal president of Santa María Chilchotla, Regino Gallardo González, was arrested by the General Attorney's Office of the State of Oax here for his alleged responsibility in the crimes of aggravated extortion and attempted homicide, reported state authorities.
According to the investigation, the events occurred in September 2024, when an armed group broke into a home in the municipality that it governs to carry out alleged “floor” rights collections and attack the inhabitants of the property.
The State Prosecutor indicated that the investigations allowed to prove the probable participation of the mayor in the events, which is why a judge issued the arrest warrant. n corresponding.
