Mexican Navy achieves major cocaine seizure in the Pacific Ocean
In total 63 packages of drugs were seized, which represents a strong blow to organized crime organizations
Personnel from the Ministry of the Navy (Semar) carried out the seizure of 63 packages with drugs, during three different maritime surveillance and security operations in waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The first event took place 180 nautical miles southwest of Acapulco, Guerrero, where, through an operational deployment n an oceanic patrol of the Mexican Navy, 22 packages floating in the sea, containing packages with cocaine were located.
Likewise, approximately two nautical miles from the point of seizure, 11 people were rescued as castaways, who medical prayer, being in good health state, the same ones that on arrival at the port of Manzanillo were delivered to the competent immigration authorities.
In a second event, during the inspection of a vessel on its arrival at the port of Manzanillo, Colima, seven packages with cocaine located inside a container vessel were found es, together with three people of male sex of foreign nationality, who traveled as police officers, who were placed at disposal before the General Attorney's Office of the Republic (FGR).
Finally, the third seizure was carried out after recovering 34 packages of drugs 235 nautical miles off the coast of Acapulco, the same that were r collected by surface units of the Mexican Navy and transferred to the port of Huatulco to be delivered to the competent authorities.
It is worth highlighting that these seizures add to the 65.5 tons of illicit cargo seized at sea in the current administration.
