Searching mothers achieve arrest of 'La Tia', linked to the CJNG, accused of disappearance of young people
'La Tia' arrested in Tijuana, allegedly responsible for disappearances and linked to the CJNG; searching mothers played a key role
Maria de la Luz Concepcion “N”, known as “La Tia”, was arrested for her alleged participation in the disappearance of several young people in Tijuana, Baja California. The arrest occurred after a direct intervention by groups of mothers searching for their missing children in the Los Valles neighborhood, southwest of the city. "La Tia," originally from Michoacan, was linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and was wanted for forced disappearance in connection with events that occurred on December 28. The arrest was made after an investigation involving the mothers searching for their missing children, who, after receiving information from neighbors, went to confront the woman without police accompaniment. Confrontation with mothers searching for their missing children: In the Los Valles neighborhood, "La Tia" was identified by the mothers, who had gone there to post photographs of their missing relatives. In a conversation with one of them, the detainee claimed to know one of the missing young men, promising to contact the mother if she obtained information and gave her a hug. Despite the initial refusal of the Ministerial Police to arrest her, the mothers insisted, which led FESC agents to verify that there was a valid arrest warrant. After setting up surveillance in the area, they finally managed to arrest “La Tia” as she left her home and transferred her to the State Attorney General's Office. Criminal network and history of disappearances: Authorities link “La Tia” to the disappearance of at least six young people in October 2025: Abraham Isaac Arredondo Flores, Carlos Abel Trujillo Torres, Edgar William Sharon Preciado, Monica Patricia Lopez Medina, Sadrac Fidel Velarde Zepeda, and Juan Sebastian Dominguez. Investigations reveal that she did not operate alone. But she was part of a criminal network that worked alongside Esmeralda Janeth Fabian Diaz, alias “La Licenseda,” who was a member of the CJNG structure under the leadership of “Cabo 27.Fabian Diaz fled to Jalisco and was murdered in December 2025. The operation also included arrest warrants for other CJNG members, such as Raul Arellano Vargas (“El Cholo”), Carlos Rodolfo Reyna Franco (“El Tete”), and Jesus Antonio Moreno Campos (“El Guero”), who are accused of participating in kidnapping. Next steps in the case: Maria de la Luz Concepcion “N” remains in the custody of the Baja California State Attorney General's Office authorities are waiting to determine his legal status in the coming hours.
