Texas man sentenced for stabbing his wife more than 30 times because he believed she was unfaithful
Brian Alan Jutson was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife, whom he strangled and then stabbed multiple times
“Following an on-site investigation, it was determined that a domestic dispute had occurred between a married couple,” police wrote at the time. "The wife was fatally stabbed during the argument. The husband fled the scene and was later located and arrested with the assistance of the Bryan, Texas, Police Department and the Department of Public Safety."
Court documents obtained by NBC's Brazos Valley affiliate, KAGS, provided additional details about the fatal incident.
According to the report, Brian Jutson's daughter made the initial 911 call, informing the operator that her father had just killed her stepmother. The daughter told authorities that Brian Jutson had called her and said, “I think I killed her,” referring to Sherry Jutson.
During a police interrogation, Brian Jutson confessed to the murder of his wife, Brian Jutson told investigators that he left his job in West Texas and drove seven hours straight to confront Sherry because he believed she was cheating on him, according to local CBS affiliate KBTX. Jutson reportedly admitted to strangling his wife before repeatedly stabbing her with scissors. Brian Jutson provided chilling details about the murder,telling investigators that he didn't remember exactly how many times he stabbed Sherry Jutson, but he did remember her pleading with him during the attack: “Baby, I love you, please stop. I'm dying.” After murdering his wife, Brian Jutson showered to wash off the blood before leaving the house. Despite his guilty plea, the prosecution presented evidence to the jury as part of the sentencing phase of the trial. This evidence included testimony about the brutal attack, as well as numerous messages Brian Jutson sent to his wife in the days leading up to the murder, according to KBTX.
