Edgar Berlanga promises to ruin Alalshikh plans with Sheeraz

Edgar Berlanga reacted to Turki Alalshikh's controversial comment on social media and promised that on July 12, he will ruin the plans he has with Hamzah Sheeraz when he knocks him out at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
In an interview with La Opinion, Berlanga indicated that he doesn't care about all what the Arab sheikh has planned to do with Sheeraz because he is sure that he will beat him easily.
"Sheeraz is a good fighter, but the truth is, he has nothing for me. And on July 12, I'm going to put everything in that ring. Because the truth is, everyone knows that I walk with Jesus Christ. And right now Turki posted something on Twitter (X), saying that he doesn't want Sheeraz knocked out. And Stevenson too, because he has his plan for him. I don't care about that, I don't care," he said.
"He may have a lot of money, he has a tough boxing team and everything, but I don't care about that because at the moment, on the last day, July 12, Sheeraz needs to fight me. Turki is not going to fight him. Turki's boss can't fight him, you understand? He needs to fight me. So I'm going to ruin all their plans. Their plans are not in line with my plan," he added.
According to Turki Alalshikh himself, Hamzah Sheeraz is being considered as Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's next opponent for February 2026. For this reason, His Excellency expressed that “he would be very angry” if the Briton does not come out with his arm raised against the Puerto Rican.
"I would be very angry if Berlanga and Zepeda knock out Sheeraz and Shakur (Stevenson). We have big plans for Sheeraz and Shakur, and this result would be a complete disaster…!" he wrote on his official X account.
These statements did not please Edgar Berlanga, but this did not affect him at all, since he is focused and trained hard to show everyone that he is not a fighter who should be underestimated.
Edgar Berlanga, 27, returned to winning ways by knocking out Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz in the first round. The Puerto Rican fighter has a record of 23 wins, 18 of them by way of knockout and one loss.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Hamzah Sheeraz moved up to super middleweight after drawing with Carlos Adames at 160 pounds and losing his chance to be crowned champion. The Briton has a record of 21 wins, zero losses, and one draw.
