A$AP Rocky spoke for the first time about the emotional impact of the shooting at his home with Rihanna
After the violent attack on his Beverly Hills residence, the rapper broke his silence and detailed the family trauma his family suffered
Almost three months after the shooting that occurred at the residence he shares with Rihanna in Beverly Hills, rapper A$AP Rocky spoke for the first time about the deep emotional impact the incident had on his family.
In an exclusive interview with VIBE magazine, the musician described the episode as a traumatic experience that drastically altered the security of his home.
The attack occurred on March 8, when a woman identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz opened fire on the property using an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle.
At that moment, at least ten people were at the scene and in the potential line of fire, including Rihanna, Rocky, her three young children, the singer's mother and domestic employees. Although fortunately no one was injured, the psychological consequences persist.
“It was very screwed up,” the interpreter confessed. "Someone tried to harm me and my family. The incident took away a lot of peace and happiness from being able to simply be free," the rapper lamented.
For their part, sources close to Rihanna assured that the singer heard the detonations and was deeply disturbed and confused by the attack, questioning how something like this could happen despite having a robust security team.
The judicial process against the alleged attacker continues. Ortiz remains detained on $1.875 million bail after pleading not guilty to one count of attempted murder, ten counts of assault with a firearm and three counts of shooting into an inhabited dwelling. If convicted, she could face life in prison.
