According to a report by journalist Mandy Fridmann, the Cuban-born actress would have been on a video call with her son Mauro during the last minutes of the young man's life.
The publication detailed that Aylín Mujica received an emergency call while she was filming the fifth season of the cooking reality show “Top Chef VIP” in Colombia.
Members of the production team would have informed the “Las Top News” portal that the famous woman witnessed, through said video call, when members of the medical staff treated her son Mauro after having a first heart attack.
"Aylín would have received a video call from her son on the way to the hospital. Mujica was recording, and some of her colleagues would have witnessed the moment where the beloved actress would have witnessed when the doctors had to treat him in an emergency," Fridmann commented in the publication.
The witnesses pointed out that the call was abruptly cut off due to the heartbreaking reaction of the former host of “La Mesa Caliente”: “Hospital staff cut the call when they heard her mother's screams,” it was detailed.
What did Mauro, son of Aylín Mujica, die of?
The health complications of the young man known as DJ MAAHEZ occurred when he was traveling from Miami to Barbados to take part in a baseball game, still suffering from the ravages of pneumonia.
Personnel close to Mauro, 30, shared with the press that he began to experience discomfort after practice. As a result, he was taken to a hospital, where he suffered a first heart attack and, later, a second from which he could not recover.
For his part, the Cuban musician Osamu Menéndez, father of the young man, spoke for the first time about the news through a message on social networks. In it, he asked for privacy and respect to go through this difficult moment at the family level.
"Forgive me, I can't speak, my son Mauro died last night and I'm devastated. I'm going on the plane to look for his body. I love you always and I appreciate your condolences," he said.
