Ariana Grande creates her “Brighter Days Ahead” foundation to protect the most vulnerable
The singer announced her foundation, after asking the White House not to use her song “Bye” in an ICE video
Ariana Grande went from words to actions. After publicly denouncing the use of her song “Bye” in a White House TikTok video promoting the work of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the “Wicked: For Good” star announced the launch of the “Brighter Days Ahead” Foundation, a charity aimed at protecting and supporting the most vulnerable groups.
This action by the artist is the result of a commitment that she has demonstrated over the years. In a press release, the star stated: "Our mission is to support, protect and provide resources to our vulnerable friends in need. Through four different funds, we will support incredible organizations that offer the safe space and care that so many people desperately need right now."
The controversy arose on Thursday, when the official White House account published a video on TikTok showing immigrants detained by ICE agents, accompanied by the song “Bye” by Grande and the caption: “President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.”
Far from remaining silent, the singer responded forcefully on the same platform: “Please never use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhuman and atrocious nonsense.” Although her comment appears to have been subsequently hidden, the artist's team managed to have the song muted from the video within hours.
About its foundation
The “Brighter Days Ahead” Foundation, which according to the artist “defends justice and equity,” will channel its work through four main funds, three of which have already begun supporting beneficiaries:
With this movement, Ariana Grande seeks to turn her music into a kind of shield in favor of people who face situations of vulnerability, according to what she expressed on her social networks.
