In a recent interview on SiriusXM's "The Morning Mash Up," the Irish actor confessed that the constant insults about his physical appearance have led him to isolate himself and even fear going outside. "There's so much hate on the internet," Keoghan explained. "There are so many insults about how I look, and it's just too much; well, everyone goes through it... but it's made me isolate myself. It's made me shut down, not want to go places, not want to go out." The actor emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, "It's becoming a problem." Keoghan has distanced himself from social media. Keoghan explained that, although he chose to distance himself from social media to protect his well-being, he occasionally checks it after premieres to see "how his work is being received." However, I have regretted that most of the time the response “is not nice.” In addition to this, Keoghan expressed his fear that the anxiety generated by these attacks will end up interfering with his artistic career. “When that starts to influence your art, it becomes a problem, because then you don't even want to appear on screen anymore,” he reflected. One of the most painful aspects for the actor is thinking about the future consequences for his young son, Brando. Keoghan confessed his concern about the moment when the boy is old enough to read for himself the hateful messages circulating about his father. “It's disappointing for the fans, but it's also disappointing that my young son will have to read all this when he's older,” he added. When asked how he finds peace in his private life, the star of Saltburn was emphatic: “I don't have to hide because I'm already hiding… In fact, I don't go to certain places because of these things.”
