Danna finally clarifies whether she will return to telenovelas playing 'Teresa'
Singer Danna has already addressed the speculation surrounding her, after it was said that she would be the new star of 'Teresa'
Mexican actress and singer Danna, who has been away from telenovelas for several years, was approached by the press about the rumors surrounding her, which included the suggestion that she could star in a new installment of 'Teresa', a telenovela previously starring Maricruz Olivier, Salma Hayek, and Angelique Boyer.
Danna addressed this topic during a brief encounter with the press at Mexico City International Airport, where she categorically denied any interest in portraying such an iconic villain.
“If at some point I'm offered something like that, I would love to produce and develop it. I grew up with Teresa,” Danna commented briefly.
She then explained that at the moment she doesn't have the headspace or the time to commit to a television project, as she is very focused on her music, thus closing the door on any possibility of returning to soap operas.
“Right now I'm so focused on my music that I wouldn't have the time or the energy. Many projects are coming this year, and some very beautiful things are on the horizon,” the singer continued. While there's nothing concrete yet about a possible return to acting, that didn't stop Danna from showering praise on Angelique Boyer, whom she considers to have given a great performance as 'Teresa' more than 15 years ago. "I love Angelique, there's no one like her Teresa," Danna confessed, whose last starring role in a Mexican telenovela was in 2010 in 'Atrevete a Sonar' (Dare to Dream). Speculation about her possible participation in the plot arose after a photograph of her in character as 'Teresa' went viral a few weeks ago, created with the help of artificial intelligence.
