Like every year, former US president Barack Obama shared with the public his 'Summer Playlist', with which he announced the artists and musical themes that accompany him in his daily life during this season.

Through his Instagram account, the politician explained that this year is even more special because it included an artist who marked his life and that of his wife, Michelle Obama.

This is Glen Hansard, an Irish singer-songwriter, musician and actor who lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident at the age of 56, during the early hours of July 29.

"Here I share with you some of the songs I have been listening to this summer. I start with a song that Michelle and I adore, by Glen Hansard, a great musician who tragically passed away this week. Our condolences to his family," Obama wrote from his official Instagram account.

According to Barack Obama's list, his summer has been full of musical variety thanks to the talents of David Bowie, Coldplay, Gabriel Jacoby, Yebba, The Strokes, Charley Crockett, Temper City, The Police and Los Lobos, to name a few.

In a second message, the former president of the United States invited the public to make this dynamic a collaboration: I am always looking for new songs to listen to, so please share your recommendations in the comments, he added.

Barack Obama started this annual tradition of his 'Summer Playlist' in 2015, when he was still president and residing in the White House and partnered with Spotify.
