The book 'Tragos Amargos' (Bitter Drinks), written by Lupillo Rivera, continues to be the talk of the town, not only because of the reactions of the people named in it, but also because of the response they received from the 'Toro del Corrido'.

One of the biggest controversies was with Belinda, with whom the singer had a brief romance with her and accused her of being unfaithful despite the fact they had already talked about starting a family.

“For me it ended immediately, I mean, from one moment to the next. I told him: 'You know what? No problem. Give it your all and God bless you,' right? Like that,” Lupillo said in a conversation he had with Luis Sandoval on the program 'Buena Vibra'.

Lupillo's comments did not go unnoticed by Belinda, who in a meeting with the media assured that she was not going to waste her time talking about irrelevant people.

“I don't talk about irrelevant people. I'm very used to them always using my name to say all kinds of things. I have nothing to say about it,” she said at the time.

Despite her initial position, Belinda did not sit idly by and decided to take legal action against Lupillo Rivera, after he announced that he had in his possession very sensitive material from the actress, who he allegedly shared with her during their relationship.

“The Public Ministry notified Lupillo Rivera of the prohibition of making publications, statements or any intimidating or offensive conduct against Belinda, also ordering him to remove the content currently circulating on digital platforms and social networks,” reads the ruling issued by the authorities in this case.

When everything seemed to indicate that this action would close the case, Lupillo Rivera decided to counter-sue Belinda, whom he accusations of false statements and damaging his image with lies.

Through a statement shared on his social networks on October 16, The law firm representing the singer announced its position on the situation with the famous Spanish-born singer and the reasons for the lawsuit.

"The legal actions are intended to clarify and determine liability arising from false and defamatory statements that, as has been documented, affect Mr. Rivera's honor, public image, and professional career," reads a fragment of the statement signed by attorney Alonso Beceiro of Grupo Beceiro.
