The acclaimed director of "Barbie" will bring C.S. Lewis's magical universe to life with a dream cast and a confirmed release date. The enchanted world of the children's books will come alive on the big screen on February 12, 2027, and will subsequently arrive on Netflix on April 2 of the same year. The highly anticipated adaptation now has an official title: "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew." The release was delayed, as it was originally expected to arrive on the platform by the end of this year. A stellar cast. The first installment of this second attempt to bring Lewis's novels to the big screen will feature a top-tier cast. Meryl Streep, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, Emma Mackey, and Denise Gough are among the actors who appear in the film. They are joined by Ciaran Hinds, Susan Wokoma, David McKenna, Beatrice Campbell, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. Gerwig not only directs but also serves as screenwriter and producer. Members of the C.S. Lewis estate are involved as producers, ensuring fidelity to the original spirit of the work.

The 42-year-old director shared her deep connection to the story in a statement, as reported by People magazine: “I was a child when I first read 'The Magician's Nephew,' and I fell in love with the improbable, yet absolutely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion bringing the world of Narnia to life through song,” she confessed.
“I didn't know that I would grow up to be a filmmaker, but the idea of ??a universe built from music has always been in my heart,” she added.

Published May 2, 1955,The novel is the sixth in the author's seven-book series, but chronologically it is the first. The story takes place 1,000 years before the events of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and focuses on the creation of the magical world of Narnia by the lion Aslan. Unlike the previous film saga, which only adapted "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," "Prince Caspian," and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," this new version begins with the origins of the Narnian universe.
