Alicia Machado confesses that she called 911 to ask for help regarding her daughter's behavior
Former Miss Universe confessed that she has turned to authorities and social workers for support regarding her daughter's behavior
Venezuelan actress and model Alicia Machado surprised everyone by revealing some of the challenges she has faced as a single mother. According to her testimony, she has had to ask for help from authorities and social workers because of her daughter's behavior. The unexpected confession came during her appearance on the program "Desiguales," hosted by Adamari Lopez, Karina Banda, Migbelis Castellanos, Amara La Negra, and Dr. Nancy. In one segment of the show, the Venezuelan revealed the measures she has taken to combat some of her daughter Dinorah's behavior, including a 911 call. Like any mother, she has faced some rebellious episodes that have led her to seek the support of social workers: "I've done it, I've called social workers at times because of her behavior. With social media, they also fall into these things that you don't know about," she said. In this regard, she declared: "As a single mother who has had to raise a Latina teenager in this country, I've done it, and that's how I've supported and managed to raise my daughter. Don't be afraid of them. I haven't cared about being Alicia Machado and having to call 911 and say: 'Look, my daughter isn't obeying me, my daughter ran away, my daughter left without my permission.' I've done it, and nothing happens; that's what the authorities are for." Fortunately, Alicia Machado has felt supported by the system in containing the situation: “It’s one of the great things about the United States (…) The issue with minors is enormous, and yes, we have a lot of help,” she added. Despite the moments of uncertainty she has experienced during her daughter Dinorah's adolescence, who is currently 18 years old, the celebrity remains very proud of the person she has become. This message was clear in the Instagram post she dedicated to the young woman last June: “I am so blessed to have you as my daughter. You are the best thing I have and the only reason all the battles have been worth it: to see you smile and see you happy.”She indicated at the time.
The former Miss Universe concluded her appearance on the Univision production by sharing advice with parents going through a similar situation: “If you see that your child is involved in something and is not obeying you, call social workers for help,” she emphasized.
