Maria Celeste defends Raul de Molina after he was interrupted for speaking about immigrants
Maria Celeste Arraras called what was done to Raul de Molina on CBS during the New Year's broadcast outrageous
Journalist Maria Celeste Arraras joined the voices that have shown solidarity with Raul de Molina, after the famous presenter's intervention was interrupted by CBS and taken off the air while he was giving a message of support to the migrant community during the New Year's celebrations.
Through a video, which she shared on her Instagram account, the renowned journalist lamented what happened to her former Univision colleague, who was not allowed to make his voice heard in the lead-up to the start of 2026.
“LET'S MAKE THIS GO VIRAL?? In solidarity with my dear friend @rauldemolina and with our Hispanic community. #boycottCBS,” reads the message with which Maria Celeste Arraras accompanied her video.
In her footage, she is seen in close-up, raising her voice in support of freedom of expression and the rights of migrants.
“What happened on December 31st, New Year's Eve in Times Square, New York, is truly outrageous, and it's only now coming to light,” Maria Celeste began.
She then went into detail about what happened on air when Rauli, as he is also known, took advantage of the CBS cameras to deliver a message of support for migrants, which was abruptly interrupted.
“Raul de Molina was hosting his New Year's Eve program for Univision when the CBS hosts, who were also broadcasting live, invited him to briefly participate in their broadcast and asked him what he wished for in 2026. Raul began to answer that he wished for justice for Latino immigrants. They didn't let him finish his sentence; they cut him off mid-sentence and “They went to commercials,” the broadcaster continued. In the same message, she made a personal call to boycott CBS for stifling the freedom of expression of those who think differently. “I, personally, am boycotting CBS,” said the former host of 'Primer Impacto' before concluding her video.
Maria Celeste's post was immediately filled with red hearts and words of support from her followers, who not only supported her, but also Raul de Molina.
