What was the last day of filming Euphoria like for Zendaya?
The Emmy winner closed a seven-year cycle playing Rue Bennett in a day that went from nostalgia to a great farewell party on set
Filming on the third and final season of “Euphoria” came to an end, marking the closing of an era for television and, especially, for its protagonist, Zendaya.
After seven years linked to the complex role of Rue Bennett, the 29-year-old actress said goodbye to the team in a last day full of emotions, thank-you speeches and an unexpected celebration that transformed the recording set.
The last day of filming began with an atmosphere of deep nostalgia. In front of the technical team and her cast mates, many of whom have accompanied her since the premiere of the HBO series in 2019, Zendaya dedicated a heartfelt message to her colleagues.
"Many of you have been here from the beginning and have seen me grow. It has been a pleasure and an honor. Thank you very much," the actress said in front of a four-tier celebration cake.
Later, she shared an apple cider toast with her partner Hunter Schafer (Jules), who described her in the network's special material as a “soul mate” for life.
However, the nostalgic tone took a radical turn with the cry of “cut!” last. According to actor James Landry Hébert, the production surprised everyone by transforming the rural location into an improvised nightclub.
"Suddenly we were on the farm and the disco lights started to turn on, the music started to play... Everyone was crying, they brought out champagne. It was a great liberation for everyone," he explained.
With the end of this installment, which places the plot five years after the second season, a cultural phenomenon that catapulted the careers of its protagonists comes to an end.
