Official! Nintendo announces Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 published a teaser that causes a stir on social networks. The remake of 'Zelda Ocarina of Time' arrives 28 years after the N64 version
Through an impeccable narration with a mysterious voice, which tells the beginning of the story, and the first images that show the new graphics engine, Nintendo officially announced the remake of 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time'. It will be available for Switch 2, the most current console.
The company published a teaser on social networks and made it clear that the launch will be in this same 2026. The remake materializes 28 years after the original version that came out for Nintendo 64, in 1998.
“A long time ago there was a land called Hyrule, created by beings of supreme divinity,” the narrative says, adding details about the Kokiri forest, fairies and the unexpected arrival of “a particular child.” This is Link, the hero of time and protagonist of the saga.
In addition, you hear a few tiny, but delicious excerpts from the soundtrack of 'Lost Wood', one of the most iconic melodies from Ocarina of Time.
What to expect from the remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
In addition to the graphic and auditory novelties, probably the biggest attraction so far, the story is expected to have some variations, something typical and essential of remakes.
Although they should not alter the original course of the story, they are details that enrich the experience and better tell everything that was not seen in the 1998 original.
At the end of the teaser you can see Link lying in bed in his little treehouse, just like we see him in the N64 version before the fairy Navi comes looking for him. However, here the first variation with respect to the original game happens: the symbol of the Triforce shines in his hand.
In the coming days, Nintendo could release more trailers for the remake, offering official images of Link in combat, what Princess Zelda will look like, and the fearsome enemy Ganondorf.
It should be remembered that in the story of 'Ocarina of Time' there are a lot of iconic characters and enemies, even settings, which already arouses the curiosity of many fans about how they will be treated in this re-release.
For example: what it will be like to travel through Kakariko Village, Lon Lon Ranch or Gerudo Valley. This is without counting the temples and dungeons, a frozen Zora's Domain, the bustle of the Market and the experience of fishing in Lake Hylia. They are scenes and details that go far beyond the main plot.
Nintendo Switch 2 raises the bar towards a video game that not only has fame and an impressive history, but also strikes a chord with the players of that time, those who grew up humming the melodies of the ocarina of time. Let it arrive now!
