Indian Youth Congress president Srinivas Beevi appeared before the Guwahati police on Monday in connection with a harassment case filed by expelled Assam Pradesh Youth Congress president Ankita Dutta. Srinivas Biwi reached Guwahati at around 9.30 am. From here they went to the Panbazar police station to appear before Moitrayi Deka, Principal Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), East Guwahati. Here he was questioned for about an hour.

After this he reached the CID office, where he was questioned for about an hour. Responding to the question of reporters, Srinivas BV said, I have already told you that the matter is pending in the court and we have faith in the judiciary. The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to Srinivas' wife. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and Sanjay Karol, while granting anticipatory bail to Srinivas, had asked him to cooperate with the investigation and appear before the police on May 22. Last month, Ankita Dutta, who was expelled from the primary membership of the Congress for six years, filed a harassment case against the Congress youth chief.
