Big gift to farmers of Modi cabinet, increase in MSP of Kharif crops

Union Cabinet Decisions: The Narendra Modi government at the Center on Wednesday approved a proposal to increase the Minimum Support Price for 17 crops, including 14 Kharif crops. Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed about the decision of the cabinet. He said that while fixing the MSP of Kharif crops for the year 2022-23, full care was taken that farmers should get support price 1.5 times the cost of production.
Crores of farmers will benefit
He said that crores of farmers of the country will be benefited by the decision of the cabinet taken under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He told that the support price of sesame has been increased by Rs 523. He claimed that the Modi government has fulfilled all the promises made to the farmers. This is the reason why the budget for agriculture has increased to Rs 1.26 lakh crore.
Paddy, wheat procurement has increased on MSP
The payment of MSP for paddy from 2007 to 2014 was Rs 2.58 lakh crore, which increased to Rs 7.43 lakh crore. Wheat was procured at Rs 1.99 lakh crore at MSP from 2007 to 2014, which has now increased to Rs 3.65 lakh crore in 2014-21. Anurag Thakur said that till 2014, 1.51 lakh metric tonnes of pulses were procured, which has now increased to 112.63 lakh metric tonnes.

Modi government took many decisions in the interest of farmers
Anurag Thakur said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken many big decisions in the interest of farmers. This has improved the standard of living of the farmers. He said that the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund of Rs 1 lakh crore has been created. 2 lakh crore rupees have been sent in the account of farmers in the form of Kisan Samman Nidhi. He said that more than Rs 16 lakh crore agricultural loans were made available through Kisan Credit Cards. He said that till now farmers have got compensation of up to Rs 1 lakh crore under the crop insurance scheme.
