At the start of the celebrations alluding to the 250 years of American independence, President Donald Trump praised the supremacy achieved by the nation.
From the Mount Rushmore National Monument, South Dakota, the 80-year-old Republican gave a speech extolling the effort made over two and a half centuries to achieve leadership not only at a regional but global level defending the flag of freedom.
“We are the freest people in the world, we have the most just and lasting Constitution in the world and we are the most powerful nation in the world,” he stated.
He then claimed the legacy of the Founding Fathers and the Declaration of Independence of 1776 and then immersed himself in a historical tour of the country, covering the War of Independence, the Civil War, industrialization and even the role assumed during the two World Wars.
From this, he emphasized the enormous military power achieved from the drive for the evolutionary manufacturing of weapons to confront, not only the internal threats that put the security of Americans at risk, but also the enemies that exist beyond their borders.
And as an example of its potential to subdue its adversaries, he gave the cases of Venezuela and Iran as an example.
Regarding the first, he praised that in record time US troops managed to capture their former president and exercise control of the Bolivarian Republic.
Regarding the second, he reiterated that the armed forces under his command practically dismantled the navy of the Islamic Republic waiting for them to sign a commitment to end the uranium enrichment program focused on the creation of nuclear weapons.
"We defeated Venezuela in one day and we gave Iran a tremendous beating. They are dying to reach an agreement, they really want to agree. We gave them a week of truce for a funeral," he stressed.
And as the culmination of his message, he said that the country is heading towards a new golden era based on technological leadership, energy independence and the expansion of space exploration, promoted by its federal agencies.
