Big success for Punjab Police: ISI agent arrested from Mohali, accused of providing maps of government buildings

State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) arrested a spy Tapinder Singh on charges of spying in India for Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. SSOC's AIG Ashwani Kapoor said that on the basis of information, the team arrested him from Phase-1 on Wednesday night and produced him in the court on Thursday. From where he was sent on remand for four days. He is a resident of Sector-40D, Chandigarh.
During the court hearing, SSOC said that its strings are connected to many terrorist organizations operating from Pakistan. He used to send maps and photographs of major establishments, bases, sensitive government buildings in India and Punjab to the ISI. There is a possibility of many important revelations in his interrogation. The SSOC sought a seven-day remand from the court. The judge, after hearing the arguments, granted remand for four days.
Video sent of SSOC building recovered from phone
It is alleged that Tapinder Singh had made photographs and videos of Punjab Police buildings, offices, police stations and sent them to ISI. Not only this, he used to send their location to them as well. He had also sent a video of the SSOC building which has been recovered from his phone. In return, Tapinder used to get a hefty amount. Two mobiles have been recovered from it, in which dozens of numbers of Pakistan have been found. They have been sent for forensic examination. The accused was talking to an ISI agent through a social media app for a long time. Chats with agents sitting in Pakistan have also been recovered from his phone. The police suspect that on the basis of the information sent by it, attacks have taken place on the police intelligence headquarters in Mohali and the police station in Tarn Taran recently.
Tapinder is double MA
Tapinder Singh is double MA. She has done her MA in Punjabi from a private college in Chandigarh and MA in Political Science from Panjab University. He came in contact with ISI through social media in 2018 and after that he started working for them. He was sending information to them for the last about four years. He also told during interrogation that earlier he had sent information about army and other places which he has deleted.
