Delhi Four Wheelers Banned: BS-3 petrol, BS-4 diesel four wheelers banned in Delhi
BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles have been banned from running on the roads in Delhi, which will be effective from 9 December.

BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel four-wheelers were banned in Delhi. The decision has been taken in view of the restrictions imposed by the Center's Air Quality Committee under the third phase of the Delhi government's Phased Response Action Plan (GRAP) .
BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel vehicles banned in Delhi from December 9
BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles have been banned from running on the roads in Delhi, which will be effective from 9 December. The sub-committee for the implementation of GRAP held a meeting to review the air quality in the region as well as the meteorological conditions and the air quality of Delhi.
Transport Department issued order
According to an order issued by the Transport Department, in the third phase of the revised GRAP and as per the directions provided under section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, it is hereby ordered that the GRAP shall be suspended in the National Capital Territory of Delhi with immediate effect till December 9 or There will be restrictions on the running of BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel LMV (four wheeler) vehicles till the amendment is made in the phase.
Exemption to vehicles engaged in emergency services and government or election work
Vehicles engaged in emergency services and government or election work will be exempted. The order states, if any BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel LMV four wheeler is found running on the roads, a fine of Rs 20,000 will be imposed under Section 194 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The pollution level in Delhi has reached the 'severe' category since November 4. The AQI was 447 on November 4.
