Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj Criticizes Congress Support for Avimukteshwaranand
Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj criticizes Congress support for Avimukteshwaranand, alleging political bias and questioning Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s actions.
In a fiery statement, Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj has accused the Congress party of politically backing Avimukteshwaranand, questioning their motives and the legitimacy of their actions. This comes in the wake of a letter written by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, addressing Avimukteshwaranand as the revered Shankaracharya, despite a Supreme Court stay on such recognition.
Allegations Against Congress
Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj did not mince words as he launched into a critique of the Congress party, alleging that they are fully supporting Avimukteshwaranand in his pursuits. “This is for everyone, Congress, BJP, all CMs and the PM, HM and everyone who is supporting Avimukteshwaranand... The Congress party is giving complete support to Avimukteshwaranand,” he stated.

The Controversial Letter
He highlighted a letter dated September 13, 2022, written by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, which addressed Avimukteshwaranand as the Shankaracharya. This letter, according to Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj, is problematic given that the Supreme Court had issued a stay on recognizing Avimukteshwaranand as Shankaracharya. “When our Guruji became ‘Brahmleen’, these people asked for a letter to the Congress... The Congress issued a letter and Avimukteshwaranand reached the Supreme Court,” he elaborated.
Political Implications
Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj accused the Congress party of playing political games and using Avimukteshwaranand as a pawn in their strategy against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. He questioned Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s motives and demanded an explanation. “Will Congress decide who the Shankaracharya is? He is standing against Narendra Modi and who is backing him? Priyanka Gandhi Vadra,” he remarked.
Call for Action
He went on to suggest that Avimukteshwaranand’s support for Rahul Gandhi’s alleged anti-Hindu remarks is a direct result of the Congress’s backing. “Avimukteshwaranand will stand with Rahul Gandhi when he makes anti-Hindu remarks. Why? This letter is the reason... The Congress is playing a game and Avimukteshwaranand is the toy,” he alleged.
Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj concluded by demanding a public apology from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for writing the controversial letter. “I want to ask Priyanka Gandhi Vadra that she should either issue a public apology for writing this letter or we will file a contempt in the Supreme Court against her,” he declared.
Response Awaited
The Congress party and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have yet to respond to these accusations. The political and religious communities are closely watching for any further developments in this matter. The controversy has added another layer to the ongoing political discourse in India, highlighting the complex interplay between religion and politics.
Govindananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj’s statements have stirred significant controversy, bringing to light the tensions between religious recognition and political maneuvering. As the debate unfolds, it remains to be seen how the involved parties will address these serious allegations and what impact this will have on the broader political landscape in India.
