Gyanvapi: Hearing in the Supreme Court on the petition against the scientific survey today, Muslim side demands a survey

The Supreme Court is going to hear today the petition filed by the Muslim side against the decision of the Allahabad High Court to allow survey of the Gyanvapi campus. Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud's bench will hear on this.
A few hours after the Allahabad High Court's verdict on Thursday, Nizam Pasha, counsel for the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid, mentioned the matter before the Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and requested for an immediate hearing. In this, a ban has been demanded on the survey. The Hindu side has also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court requesting not to pass any order without hearing their side.
Earlier, the Allahabad High Court upheld the Varanasi District Judge's decision to get the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) conducting a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi complex. The court said that the order of the District Judge to conduct the survey is legal. However, the Muslim side has challenged the order in the Supreme Court.
High Court Chief Justice Pritinkar Diwakar, while dismissing the petition of Anjuman Intejamia Masjid on Thursday, said that the order of the District Court to get the scientific survey of the premises done by ASI is just and correct. There is no reason to interfere in this. The proposed survey of SI is not only necessary in the interest of justice, but is also beneficial for both the parties. In the 16-page order, the court said, ADG ASI Alok Tripathi, Additional Solicitor General of India (ASGI) Shashi Prakash Singh have given affidavits that there will be no damage to the structure during the survey. During this time neither digging nor drilling will be done. Gyanvapi campus will be surveyed without any damage. After this there is no justification to doubt this statement.
Hindu side's lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said, the High Court has said in the order that the order of ASI survey will be implemented with immediate effect. After the order of the High Court, the ASI has started preparing for the survey. Varanasi DM S Rajalingam said that the ASI has sought help from the local administration to start the survey work from 7 am on Friday. The Varanasi district judge had ordered the ASI to find out whether the 17th century mosque was built over a temple.
