The government has taken a tough stand on the case of two women being paraded naked in Manipur. The government has ordered not to share the video on Twitter and other social media platforms. Actually, Manipur is in the grip of ethnic violence these days, but now tension has spread in the hilly areas of Manipur over a video, in which two women are being paraded naked. According to reports, the video is from May 4 and both the women are from the Kuki community, while the men who are parading the women naked are all from the Meitei community. Tribal organization Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum has demanded action against the culprits.

A case of kidnapping, gangrape and murder has been registered at Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district against unidentified armed miscreants, police said.

He said that it is absolutely unforgivable that the Women and Child Development Minister waited for 76 days to speak to the Manipur CM or make a statement on the matter.

The Congress leader further questioned whether the Central Government, the Home Minister or the Prime Minister were not aware of this? When will the Modi government stop pretending that ALL IS WELL? When will the Chief Minister of Manipur be removed? How many more such incidents have been suppressed? He said that the monsoon session is starting from today. INDIA will seek answers in this matter. Ethnic violence has been raging in Manipur since May 3. More than 150 people have lost their lives in the violence that has been going on for almost two and a half months. Whereas, many people are injured. In fact, the Meitei community is demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, due to which the Kuki and Meitei communities have clashed. The Meitei people account for about 53 percent of Manipur's population and live mostly in the Imphal Valley, while the tribals, including the Nagas and Kukis, constitute 40 percent and live mostly in the hill districts.
