The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some changes in the team for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Regular captain Rohit Sharma was injured in the second ODI against Bangladesh. Now he is out of the first test against Bangladesh. KL Rahul will lead the team in his place. At the same time, Cheteshwar Pujara has been made the vice-captain. India vs Bangladesh 1st Test match will start from 14th December.

India-A captain Abhimanyu Easwaran has been included in the team in place of Rohit for the first test. Easwaran is currently on a tour of Bangladesh. He was captaining India-A in a four-day match against Bangladesh-A. Easwaran scored back to back centuries in the series against Bangladesh-A. Easwaran scored 141 in the first Test against Bangladesh 'A' team. At the same time, he scored 157 runs in the second Test. 

With this, BCCI has given another big update. Fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out of the entire series due to injury. According to the BCCI, Shami has not fully recovered from a shoulder injury and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the Test series. Navdeep Saini has been included in place of Shami and left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar in place of Jadeja. Apart from this, Jaydev Unadkat has also been included in the team.

Saurabh Kumar was in excellent form in the two-match series against Bangladesh-A. He was the highest wicket taker bowler. Saurabh took 15 wickets. Six wickets for 74 runs was his best bowling. Saurabh has joined the team earlier also, but he is yet to get a chance to debut. At the same time, Jaydev Unadkat was in excellent form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He has a lot of experience which can be useful for Team India. Navdeep Saini has been out of the Test team for a long time. The last time he played a Test match in 2021 against Australia.

The BCCI informed that Rohit was injured in the thumb in the second ODI. He met a specialist in Mumbai. He has been advised rest and observation for the injury. Easwaran may have to sit on the bench despite Rohit coming into the team as a replacement. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill can be seen opening in the first test.
