Timothy Bradley says that Yarde will receive a beating from Benavidez
Timothy Bradley explained that Yarde is a good boxer, but he won’t be able to compete with the volume and speed of David Benavidez’s hands
Timothy Bradley said that David Benavidez, the World Boxing Council (WBC) 175-pound champion, will beat and knock out Anthony Yarde on November 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
On his YouTube channel, Bradley explained that Yarde is a good boxer, but he won't be able to match up with Benavidez's volume and hand speed.
“Yarde about to get beat up, stomped, and knocked out. How can I describe what's going to happen without offending anyone? But I don't give a damn. I'm old school. It's going to be a good fight, but it's going to be one of those where Yarde gets tired while he's fighting. He might have a few rounds with some success, but he's going to get hit. He's going to be like a bug caught in a spider's web. That's exactly how it's going to be. Benavidez is going to give him trouble,” he said.
“Yarde is a good boxer, but Benavidez is too tall and doesn't have the right style for him. (…) Yarde, we've seen him before. We know what he does: flashy combinations. He tries to counterpunch from time to time, takes right hands and left hooks. He's a small, attractive boxer, but with too many muscles. This isn't a modeling contest. It's a fight," he added. According to experts, the Briton is one of the most dangerous challengers David Benavidez will face at 175 pounds because of his power. Despite this, the Mexican-American remains the favorite to take the win.
Remember that after Dmitry Bivol decided to vacate his WBC title, the Mexican-American became the absolute champion and expressed that he was interested in fighting Callum Smith or Anthony Yarde.
In the end, it was Yarde who got the challenger spot and this will be his third opportunity to try to be crowned world champion. The Mexican Monster, on the other hand, will be making his first title defense after dominating David Morrell in his last appearance in the ring last February.
David Benavidez, 29, won the WBA regular 175-pound belt from David Morrell after defeating him on the judges' scorecards. The Mexican Monster has a record of 30 wins, 24 of them by knockout, and no losses in his professional career.
Anthony Yarde, 33, is coming off a victory over Lyndor Arthur last April and could now become the WBC light heavyweight champion. The English fighter has 27 wins (24 by knockout) and three losses.
