The departure of Gilberto Mora from the Xolos de Tijuana seems imminent. The Mexican national team midfielder has been linked to several clubs in Europe. Javier Hernández hopes that Morita can reach the Old Continent, but is concerned about its high market value.

According to information from Transfermarkt, Gilberto Mora's market value skyrocketed after the 2026 World Cup. The Mexican midfielder is valued at $28.7 million dollars. Chicharito is worried that this value will affect his departure to Europe.

"I hope his price doesn't stop him from going to Europe, that's the truth. It's the only thing I see that could prevent him. If in the end a club arrives and decides to pay the millions they ask for him, then welcome, it's the best scenario," said Hernández in an interview with TUDN.

Sebastián Abreu, coach of the Xolos de Tijuana, clarified that the club will prioritize the sale of Gilberto Mora. The Mexican team will not put any major obstacles to his departure from the team. Javier Hernández insists that it is time for Gilberto Mora to pack his bags for Europe.

"I hope that the people of Tijuana allow him to leave even if they don't earn him much money, that they can't ruin that for him. Gilberto is already at a point where he has to go to another club, absorb all the knowledge and experience of being in other leagues in the world, whatever country it may be," he added.

The example of Chicharito

The football market has changed. Javier Hernández himself is an example of a premature arrival in Europe to an elite club. Chicharito left Mexico at the age of 21 for Manchester United in the Premier League.

Reports from 2010 estimated Chicharito's transfer to England for $8.2 million dollars. This was a high figure for a 21-year-old player. Gilberto Mora has triple the value and is younger (17 years old). This is Hernández's main concern.
