At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal humiliated Atletico Madrid. The "Gunner" team defeated the "Colchoneros" 4-0. Viktor Gyokeres scored the brace that sealed the score. The Swedish striker celebrates his return to the net in the UEFA Champions League.
Viktor Gyokeres' two goals came in the 67th and 70th minutes. These two goals are Swede's first for Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League. The former Sporting Lisbon striker didn't hide his happiness with the Gunners' perfect night.
"I'm very happy. They had some good chances, but I think overall we controlled the game. Scoring four goals and keeping a clean sheet is great," said Gyokeres.
Arsenal maintained a strong defense against a star-studded Atletico Madrid side. Simeone's team only managed one shot on target throughout the entire match. In addition to the defensive stability, Viktor Gyokeres' contribution served to increase the lead and seal the match.
"We did the right things defensively and when we had chances, we took advantage of them. My two goals were great. I always try to do my best and work very hard, help with everything I can, and I knew the goals would come sooner or later," he added.
With this victory, Arsenal maintains its perfect record in the UEFA Champions League. The Premier League club has three wins in three matches. Furthermore, Mikel Arteta's team has not conceded a goal in any of its matches.

In his last season with the Portuguese club, Viktor Gyokeres scored 54 goals in 52 matches.These numbers include his six goals in the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League.
