Chivas welcomes its new reinforcements: Jordan Carrillo and Kevin Castañeda
Guadalajara confirmed its first two additions of the summer and strengthens its squad to compete in the Liga MX and the Leagues Cup.
Chivas began to shape their project for the Apertura 2026. Club Guadalajara made official the incorporations of Jordan Carrillo and Kevin Castañeda, two players who arrive to strengthen different areas of the field and increase coach Gabriel Milito's options for a season in which the main objective will be to fight for the title.
After successfully completing the medical tests, both players received the go-ahead to join the first team and begin a new stage with the red and white shirt.
Chivas bets on youth, talent and offensive generation
The Guadalajara board highlighted the qualities of its new reinforcements through statements posted on social networks.
In the case of Jordan Carrillo, who still had six months of contract with Pumas, the club highlighted that he is a footballer with the conditions to make a difference in attack and provide offensive variants to the team.
Guadalajara pointed out that he is a “quality” player who will seek to transcend both the Liga MX and the Leagues Cup, in addition to fulfilling “one of his greatest dreams: wearing the shirt of the club he loves.”
Carrillo's arrival responds to the intention of adding speed, imbalance and offensive projection to a squad that seeks to be more competitive in the next semester.
Kevin Castañeda arrives to strengthen the red and white midfield
For his part, Kevin Castañeda joins as an important alternative for game creation.
The club highlighted that "his creative quality provides very valuable resources for Gabriel Milito's game model", especially highlighting his ability to generate danger from offensive positions and connect with attackers.
The incorporation of the midfielder responds to one of the priorities identified by the coaching staff: strengthening the football generation and increasing options in the construction zone.
How long did Jordan Carrillo and Kevin Castañeda sign with Chivas?
Thinking about the stability of the project headed by Gabriel Milito, the board decided to ensure the long-term permanence of both players.
Both Jordan Carrillo and Kevin Castañeda signed contracts for the next four years, a decision that provides continuity to the sports project and allows the growth of the squad to be planned with greater room for maneuver.
Guadalajara's bet is to build a solid base that can be maintained during several tournaments and constantly compete for the top positions in Mexican soccer.
The reinforcements will be integrated immediately into the preseason
Once the medical and administrative procedures have been completed, both players will join the preparation work carried out by the rest of the red and white squad.
The team continues with its physical conditioning stage in Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, where it seeks to achieve the best possible shape before the start of Apertura 2026.
With the arrivals of Jordan Carrillo and Kevin Castañeda, Chivas take their first steps in forming a squad that will seek to become a protagonist both in Liga MX and in the international tournaments that will be played during the season.
