10 jobs with excellent salaries that don't require a college education
A large part of Generation Z is leaning towards manual labor jobs, which can have salaries up to $100,000
According to a recent survey by the job portal Resume Genius, more and more young people belonging to Generation Z are opting for manual labor jobs that don't require a college degree and have good salaries.
Plumber: A high school diploma is required, and as it is a trade, an apprenticeship is necessary. The average salary is $62,000.
Elevator and escalator technician: Requires a high school diploma, the average salary is $106,580.
Plant Engineer and Boiler Operator: Requires a bachelor's degree, supplemented by an internship. The average salary is $75,190.
Electrical Line Installer and Repairer: High school diploma required. Average salary is $92,560.
Railroad worker: Requires a high school diploma and on-the-job training; average salary is $75,680.
Industrial machinery mechanic : Requires a diploma and an internship. The average salary is $63,510.
Wind Turbine Technician : A college degree is required. The average salary is $62,580.
Electrician: Only requires a diploma, often with paid apprenticeships to learn the trade. The average salary is $62,350.
Aircraft avionics mechanic and technician: Requires some post-secondary education. The average salary is $79,140.
Solar photovoltaic system installer: High school diploma required, offers an average salary of $51,860.
Resume Genius compiled a list of 10 manual labor jobs that don't require a college degree and have excellent pay.
According to Nathan Soto, author of the Resume Genius report, manual labor jobs “are well-paid with good growth potential. And they don't require a college degree. Many of these jobs are in the energy and transportation sectors,” he said.
