The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has asked the US Supreme Court for permission to interrogate anyone who speaks Spanish in southern California.
The Trump administration is seeking to have the Supreme Court lift its stay on the court order prohibiting roving immigration enforcement operations in the Los Angeles area.
In a letter to the court, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said the stay is merely an attempted judicial usurpation of immigration enforcement functions and that an immediate stay should be issued.
