The California Lottery identified the homeless person who won in April as Hispanic $1 million with a scratch-off ticket in California.
A few months ago, news went viral that a homeless person had become a millionaire after purchasing a ticket at a liquor store in San Luis Obispo. This Monday, July 14, the agency announced in a statement that Armando Vidal was the lucky winner.
Vidal lived in the Bay Area, where he suffered through difficult times after an injury in 2008 left him unemployed and homeless.
The Hispanic left Santa Clara to try to start over on the Central Coast, and occasionally visited a deli in San Luis Obispo to buy a lottery ticket.
