Another good news has come to the fore amid the ongoing 72-hour ceasefire in Sudan. In fact, Sudan's Armed Forces have announced to extend the ceasefire for another 72 hours. With this announcement, it will be easier to evacuate foreign nationals, including Indians, who are being evacuated from there. The Sudanese army issued a statement on Thursday night saying that it was extending the ceasefire for another 72 hours. The army said that Saudi Arabia and the US have mediated for this. On the other hand, the Rapid Support Forces have said that they also support increasing the ceasefire and it was proposed by the US, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Britain and the UAE. Significantly, incidents of violence were taking place even during the earlier ceasefire, but it gave so much relief that foreign nationals could leave Sudan comfortably.

The countries that have mediated in increasing the ceasefire in Sudan include the countries of the Trilateral Mechanism and the Quad. Explain that the Trilateral Mechanism includes the African Union, the United Nations' Intergovernmental Authority on Development. On the other hand, countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Britain, America in Quad are mediating for ceasefire in Sudan. The US State Department has issued a statement confirming the increase in ceasefire in Sudan.

This is news of relief for Operation Kaveri, which is being run to evacuate Indians from Sudan due to increasing ceasefire in Sudan. So far eight batches of Indians have been safely evacuated from Sudan and soon the work of evacuating all Indians from Sudan will be completed.
