A stunning wedding gown (worth Rs 46 lakh) encrusted with over 50,000 crystals has officially broken the Guinness World Record (GWR) for most crystals on a bridal dress. According to Guinness World Records, the dress premiered on April 14, 2023, during the Si Sposaitalia Collezioni Fashion Show in Milan after four months of preparation.
The wedding gown is made of 50,890 Swarovski crystals and designed by Michela Ferriero, an Italian company. According to media reports, even the gloves are studded with gems.

Months of labor
According to GWR, the customized outfit took several months to complete. The shop's co-founder, Michaela Ferreiro, created a piece after studying suitable materials to execute the idea. The garment is created by the designer in collaboration with a pattern maker and a group of skilled seamstresses. The base of the garment was made with extra care.
Crystals hand-stitched onto the dress
Each crystal was hand-stitched onto the dress, which took 200 hours. GWR's official website states, 'One crystal each was first stitched into the tulle base of the dress, followed by crystal fringe on the bodice, gloves and finally a crystal chain on the back to provide a cascade of light.'
'When you have someone to love, every single dream you have can come true, even the biggest and most challenging,' Michaela Ferriero told GWR.

previous record Turkey's Zden Gelinlik Moda Tasarim Ltd. placed 45,024 crystals on the dress at the Forum Istanbul shopping mall in Istanbul on January 29, 2011.
