A woman plans to sue the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for excessive use of force after being struck by a less-lethal projectile fired by an officer after participating in a protest against ICE in downtown Los Angeles city.
Jasmin Lomas, 25, was part of a group of protesters who gathered on January 30 outside the Metropolitan Detention Center to protest immigration operations by agencies of the Trump administration.
Lomas participated in a planned two-day demonstration called “ICE Out,” which took place in downtown Los Angeles.
