Kamala Harris rants against Donald Trump due to the increase in gasoline prices
Kamala Harris blamed Donald Trump for not anticipating that bombing Iran would trigger an increase in fuel prices
Kamala Harris, former US Vice President, blamed Donald Trump for the bad decisions made in declaring war on Iran without taking into account that it could trigger an energy crisis resulting from the increase in the price of oil.
The Democrat of A 62-year-old woman shared a video on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, where she appears in front of a gas station in Charlotte, North Carolina, to demonstrate how expensive it is to fill up a vehicle's tank after seven weeks with the Strait of Hormuz blocked to oil tankers bound for Europe and other regions of the world. "It's $15 more every time you fill up the gas tank. It will affect the price you pay for all the goods transported in those trucks," she said. The woman, who hasn't ruled out running for president again, then described Trump as a politician out of touch with the needs of the people, prioritizing his political interests. “We have a president who pays more attention to what he thinks is politically and personally beneficial to him, rather than what is beneficial to American workers,” she emphasized. A report released Wednesday by the American Automobile Association (AAA) indicated the average price of gasoline in that area. The price of gasoline at the time was $4.11 per gallon, an increase of more than one dollar in the last seven weeks. However, far from projecting a solution to the gasoline price increase, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned of the possibility of seeing oil prices rise even further, and consequently gasoline prices following suit, at least until the summer, but contingent on the end of the war against Iran. “I am optimistic and believe that between June 20 and September 20 we can get gas back to $3,” he emphasized. Meanwhile, Donald Trump even boasted that he expected much worse oil prices. "Honestly, I thought it would be much worse. It was certainly worth it that the price of oil was much higher than it is now," the Republican said during an interview on the Fox Business program "Mornings with Maria."
