Anne Hathaway tells the story behind the note Taylor Swift wrote her in 'The Eras Tour'
Anne Hathaway also confessed that her most recent film “Mother Mary” is inspired by the singer
Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway recently shared an anecdote about her encounter with Taylor Swift during a concert on The Eras Tour in Germany. In an interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Hathaway spoke about the concert experience and how special that moment was for her.
Anne, who is currently promoting her latest film, “Mother Mary,” revealed that Taylor Swift's “Reputation Stadium Tour” was a key source of inspiration for building her character in the film.
While filming “Mother Mary,” the actress attended a concert on “The Eras Tour” in Germany in 2024, an experience she described as unforgettable.
“It's magical”: Anne's reaction
“She came on stage and it was like the whole place exploded,” Hathaway commented enthusiastically.
She continued, “Taylor makes the audience feel so loved, and she made me feel so loved, too. And I was like, 'Oh my God, Annie, you're so sweet. Do you think Taylor Swift is…'” “Saying hello right now?”
To her surprise, the answer was yes. In the middle of the concert, someone tapped the actress on her shoulder to deliver a message from the pop star herself. “Someone said to me, 'Taylor wants you to have this,'” Anne recalled.
The star added, “And I was like, 'What's going on?' I opened it and it was a note where Taylor said, 'I'm so happy you're here. I'm going to say hi to you so much.'”
Hathaway didn't hide her excitement as she relived the moment: “I thought, 'Oh my God She's magic!' She did it! And she was right. I am special!”
Taylor Swift's “Eras Tour” is considered one of the most historic shows of recent years. The star behind “Lover” managed to recreate all the stages of her musical career with a spectacular stage design.
