One million two hundred thousand people attended the Pope's mass this Sunday in the Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid, according to the organizers, to participate in the most massive event of his visit to Spain.
The kings of Spain, accompanied by Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, were part of the authorities who received the pope upon his arrival at the Cibeles mass, where he received the Golden Key of the city from the hands of the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, before beginning the ceremony.
Busy agenda
The pontiff's agenda for this day includes a private meeting in the early afternoon at the Apostolic Nunciature with the members of the Order of Saint Augustine, to which he belongs and of which he was prior general for two consecutive terms, between 2001 and 2013.
