Tourist buses prohibited in area burned by Palisades Fire
The Los Angeles City Council voted Wednesday to prohibit tourist buses from traveling through the area affected by the Palisades Fire in January.
The Los Angeles City Council approved a resolution Wednesday to prohibit passenger buses from traveling through areas affected by the Palisades Fire.
Unanimously, council members authorized the Department of Transportation (DOT) to operate the so-called “disaster tours” in an area of ??approximately 16 square miles.
According to the motion approved by the City Council, tour bus traffic is prohibited within the following areas:
The resolution states that the restriction is necessary to preserve public safety in a declared emergency area while road repairs, hillside stabilization, utility repairs, and the reconstruction of homes and businesses are carried out.
