Tragic case of murdered child: Los Angeles could pay $20 million
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote on a $20 million settlement in the case of Noah Cuatro, who died in July 2019
Los Angeles County officials will vote on a $20 million settlement in the case of 4-year-old Noah Cuatro of Palmdale, who was abused, unheeded warnings and death at the hands of his parents.
The proposed figure stems from a 2020 lawsuit filed by the boy's great-grandmother, Evangelina Hernandez, on behalf of Noah's three siblings.
The lawsuit alleged that the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) ignored repeated reports of abuse and failed to enforce a court order to remove the boy from his parents' custody just weeks before Noah's death in July 2019.
