Trump approves emergency declaration for Orange County
Trump's approval allows federal assistance for the crisis in Garden Grove; The Orange County District Attorney's Office launched an investigation into the incident.
President Donald Trump approved California's request to issue a Presidential Emergency Declaration for Orange County to support the response to the incident that began on Thursday, May 21 in the city of Garden Grove.
Governor Gavin Newsom's office announced this Monday that Trump authorized the petition that California presented to him on Saturday night.
“We are grateful to the federal government for approving our request and helping to strengthen existing resources so this community can safely recover,” Newsom said in a statement.
