G-20: Railway and Metro police are also being monitored with CCTV cameras at stations; Patrolling on railway track

Railway and Metro Police have completed preparations for the security arrangements for the G-20 conference. A lot of vigil is being maintained at the stations around Pragati Maidan. Special monitoring is being done on the railway bridge under which the convoy of foreign guests will pass. No vehicles are allowed to be parked at stations around the venue.

According to the police, foreign guests attending the conference will start arriving in Delhi from September 8. Apart from Delhi Police, all the security agencies are on alert regarding this. The Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) have jointly taken over the security of seven railway stations in the national capital. Elaborate security arrangements have been made at New Delhi Railway Station and Nizamuddin Railway Station, the nearest to the venue. The convoy of foreign guests will pass through Tilak Bridge, Bhairon Road Railway Bridge, Ring Road Railway Bridge, Sardar Patel Marg Bridge and Africa Avenue Over Bridge.

Soldiers equipped with state-of-the-art weapons have been deployed at these places. Jawans have also been deployed near the railway tracks passing around the venue, who are continuously patrolling. Lights have been installed at dark places near the stations. Also, around 75 CCTV cameras have been installed at New Delhi Railway Station and Nizamuddin Railway Station for surveillance. They are being monitored from the control room.

CCTV monitoring of metro route

Metro police as well as CISF and paramilitary personnel are deployed at metro stations around Pragati Maidan. Metro service will continue during the event. CCTVs installed on the entire route of the Metro are being closely monitored. Police and paramilitary personnel will also patrol the metro during the journey and keep an eye on suspects.

vehicles will not remain in the parking lot

During the conference, vehicles will not be allowed to park in the parking lots of railway stations and Patel Chowk, RK Ashram and Supreme Court Metro Station located near the venue of the conference. No vehicles will be allowed to stay here except the essential vehicles. Passengers going to the stations will be allowed to drop, but there will be a complete ban on taking someone from the station.

Railway parcel completely closed

Railway parcel house will remain closed. The Deputy Commissioner of Railway Police had written a letter to the Railway DRM requesting it to be closed, which has been accepted by the Railways.

Appeal to give information about suspicious people

Coolies, sweepers, auto and taxi drivers present at railway stations have been asked to keep a watch on suspicious people coming here. An appeal has been made to inform the police about this, so that action can be taken after identifying it in time.
