Ice creams sold at Walmart are recalled for not declaring allergens
The recall involves Moo-llennium Crunch ice creams, which contain nuts that may be a health risk for allergy sufferers.
Through a statement, the ice cream manufacturer Blue Bell Ice Cream announced to consumers the recall of a certain amount of its products due to a labeling error.
According to the company, the recall involves “Moo-llennium Crunch” ice creams in the presentation of half gallon which were produced at the Brenham, Texas plant sold at the Walmart retail chain.
According to Blue Bell Ice Cream, the food label does not specify that it contains almonds and pecans, which could be a risk for consumers who are allergic to nuts.
The information about the recall was confirmed after an employee of the manufacturer discovered the error in the labeling and ingredients of the product. The code for the containers currently being recalled is 061027524, which can be found on the top of the lid.
The retailer confirmed that the ice creams were sold at its stores in Alabama, Arkansas, the Florida Panhandle, Northwest Georgia, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Southwest Virginia.
Finally, the manufacturer told consumers they can return the product to any of the stores where it was purchased for a refund.
