Iran denies Trump's announcements about upcoming nuclear inspections in Iranian territory
Iran says the deal to end the war is a "declaration of US defeat."
Iran reiterated this Wednesday that it does not plan to allow inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the attacked nuclear facilities, despite the insistence of US President Donald Trump and recent statements by the agency's director general, Rafael Grossi, that verifications will begin "soon."
"No meeting was held in Switzerland with Rafael Grossi, despite the request presented by the director general of the IAEA. Nor is there any plan to allow access to the facilities that were the target of attacks or to nuclear material," said Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi on the social network X.
The diplomat, who participated in the high-level negotiations with the US held on Sunday in Switzerland and later led the Iranian delegation in the technical talks on Monday, assured that any discussion on inspections and other issues related to the nuclear program will only be addressed within the framework of a definitive agreement and once the other party takes concrete measures to lift all sanctions. Iran says the deal to end the war is a “declaration of US defeat.”
The framework agreement reached between Tehran and Washington to end the war in the Middle East is a “declaration of defeat by the United States,” said the head of the Iranian negotiating team, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, on Wednesday.
“The Islamabad memorandum of understanding is not the result of pressure or coercion, but the result of the resistance and determination of the brave Iranian nation,” Qalibaf declared during a conference in Baku (Azerbaijan), broadcast on Iranian television.
“Therefore, the Islamabad memorandum of understanding has acquired the value of a declaration of defeat by the United States,” added who is also the speaker of Parliament.
