President Donald Trump canceled the signing of one of the most important affordable housing initiatives in recent decades and conditioned its enactment on the approval of the so-called SAVE America Act, a project promoted by Republicans that seeks to tighten the requirements for voting in the United States.
“The press conference and signing of the housing bill scheduled for today are canceled until we pass the urgently needed Save America Act, which I consider a national emergency,” the president wrote through Truth Social.
