Ford introduces the most patriotic Mustang ever
Ford launched the Mustang GTD Spirit of America, a 815 horsepower special edition inspired by American pride
Ford decided to take advantage of the celebration of 250 years of independence of the United States to present one of the most striking and radical Mustangs ever seen h until now. The blue oval brand took its most extreme model and transformed it into a kind of rolling homage to speed, engineering and American pride.

The result is the new Mustang GTD Spirit of America, a special edition that combines visual details inspired by the American flag with performances typical of a private supercar mer level. It's not just a design exercise. Ford wants to demonstrate that a muscle car born in the United States can look in the face of the big European names of high performance.

Under that idea appears this 815 horsepower model, prepared to exceed 200 mph and designed to become one of the most exclusive pieces in the modern history of the Mustang.
A tribute to American speed
Ford explained that this special edition also seeks to remember the figure of Craig Breedlove, considered one of the great referents of speed in the United States.
In the 1960s, Breedlove made history by surpassing 600 mph with a vehicle powered by a jet engine built by him same. That record ended up becoming a symbol of technological ingenuity and of the American obsession with breaking limits.
The philosophy behind the Mustang GTD fits perfectly with that idea. The project was born to prove that an American sportscar could compete directly with on European supercars much more expensive and exclusive. And a good part of that ambition was reflected in the recently achieved by the model at Nürburgring.
A design impossible to ignore
On a visual level, the Spirit of America quickly differentiates itself from any other Mustang. Ford opted for a Performance White body accompanied by asymmetrical stripes in Race Red and Lightning Blue.
The inspiration comes from the historical three-bar emblem of the Mustang, although reinterpreted with a much more aggressive and modern appearance. T Also notable are the red-painted mirrors, the huge “Mustang” letters on the rear spoiler, and multiple exposed carbon fiber pieces.
The front splitter, the diffuser and various aerodynamic components make clear that this car wasn't designed solely to attract attention at a display.
A Mustang designed for very few
Ford officially opened the process for U.S. customers interested in purchasing this special edition. Applications will be available until May 18, 2026, although that does not mean that all applicants will get a unit.
The company has not yet confirmed the final price of the vehicle, but different estimates point to that it will easily exceed $400,000 dollars.
